The name Perast is derived from the Illyrian Pirusta tribe. It is very quiet and enjoyable small town located only about 12 km from Kotor. Perast is probably the most authentic and beautiful baroque town on the Boka Kotorska Bay. Perast all about old stone houses, tradition and history. Many magazines, books and web sites often choose to picture Montenegro with a photographs of two beautiful small islands: Gospa od Skrpjela and Sv. Dorde (in english translation it would be "Our Lady of the Rock" and " Abbey of St. George".

Some prestigious properties in Perast, Montenegro had been sold for as much as 1mil euros. Perast is small, authentic and it is likely not going to expand into high traffic modern tourist place ever. The number of properties is thus limited so property agents are closely look upon any new property that may be offered for sale, as well as property buyers who are eager to invest in this jewel of Boka Kotorska bay.
