Risan is the oldest town in the Bay. A story tells that Risan was the center of sailing, craftsmanship and trading in the old Illyrian state. In the old town of Risan there is hotel "Teuta" Risan is quiet and interesting place which as well gets more attention lately. As far as property purchase is concerned Risan does not get near the size of tourist income or investments as for instance Budva does but that might be the chance for farsighted buyers since Risan properties are a tad bit cheaper than in Kotor and around and once more hotels and facilities grows in Risan and around it could be a profitable move. Risan is on very good position, close to Herceg Novi on one side (that means close to Croatian border too), and close to Perast, Kotor, Tivat on the other.
